"Every
professor here is personally concerned with your progress, and your emotional
and academic well being. They are willing to give you their own time and attention
to help you when you need it. I even have teachers who will call me if I've
been sick to make sure I'm alright! I learn so much from the faculty here
-- not only what they teach me in the classroom but interacting with them
outside of it."

"Between the friendly students and the knowledgable faculty, the music
department feels like your family away from home."

Central is recognized for creating a positive and nurturing learning environment in which students may achieve their musical goals.
COLLEGIALITY
Interaction and collaboration of students and faculty is a regular occurance at Central. It is commonplace to see the music faculty collaborating in performances and projects such as the Collage Concert and Classics in Ellensburg Series.
The string students are friendly and supportive of each other. They enhance the positive learning environment inside the music department as well as outside of it.
"Practice Fest" was one of several ideas that the string students created to encourage each other to set practicing goals and stick to them.Students also organized a Thursday Performance Night where they would perform something that they were working on for the other students in an informal setting outside of the department.
